Transitions: The Space Between A and Z

Today, the day after Veterans Day, I’ve been thinking about transitions — the uncomfortable, uncertain space between where you are and who you’re becoming.

We love the idea of going from A to Z, but growth doesn’t work like that. The real journey is A → B → C → D … all the way to Z. Each letter represents the steps, setbacks, lessons, people, and decisions that shape the version of yourself you’re working toward.

Transitions feel hard because you’re doing things you’ve never done before.

You’re learning new systems, facing unfamiliar problems, and dealing with the tension of mentally being at “Z” while your reality is still somewhere around “C” or “F.” That gap creates impatience, doubt, frustration, and the urge to turn around.

But those emotions aren’t danger signals — they’re evidence that you’re moving.

The Alphabet Framework

Think of your “Z” as your big end goal — the outcome or identity you want to grow into.

And everything between A and Z represents all the steps you must take to get there.

If you avoid one of those letters — a task, a decision, a confrontation, a step — your progress stalls.

The only way out of a transition is through it.

Transitions aren’t punishment.

They’re the bridge that carries you from what you are to what you’re becoming.

A Few Examples

For me, my major “Z” is becoming a paid public speaker — not because money is the purpose, but because being paid allows me to live in my calling without splitting my energy between purpose and survival.

My mom’s Z is to be a paid baker.

My client’s Z is to sell digital products online.

Different Z’s.

Different alphabets.

Same truth: you must walk through your letters.

Why I Do This Work

I’m naturally drawn to people who are in their transition—people who feel the pull toward something more but haven’t fully stepped into it yet.

I’ve lived through enough transitions to recognize the signs: the overwhelm, the identity shift, the fear, the questioning, the spark. I understand it. And I know how powerful it can be when someone has support while walking through their alphabet.

My gift is helping people go from nothing to their somethingnot my version of success, but theirs.

I love listening deeply, asking the right questions, identifying strengths, and guiding people through their letters so they reach their “Z” with clarity and confidence.

How We Can Work Together

If you’re in the middle of a transition — or you know you should be — you don’t have to walk your alphabet alone.

Final Thought

Transitions are uncomfortable, necessary, and sacred.

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure, that’s your reminder:

You’re not failing —

you’re just in the alphabet.

Start your next letter.

Your Z is waiting.
